The trouble at the helm

John Terry has been stripped off the arm band by a quirky decision of the FA. JT is not new to controversies nor to disbanding. He was stripped off the England captaincy 2 years ago for a blemish in his personal life which became public and forced Fabio Capello to take the extreme step. The arm was handed over to Rio Ferdinand and ironically and as fate would have it, JT was involved in a racial slurr with none other than Rio's brother Anton Ferdinand. What a quirk of fate. Rio was again put on the spot for the transfer of the arm band. But under the circumstance he wisely refused it for different reasons although it would have made perfect sense and just for Rio to take over for his brother's sake and sake of the football and anti-racial public, eager to see a fair end to this deplorable incident.

What is also disappointing is the double standards practised by Fabio. By demoting JT over a personal incident, not related to the game, he seemed to place importance in players behaviour and character outside the football pitch but by making an U-turn and supporting JT over the incident which occurred on the pitch and with another player, he has taken a soft stand and supporting him by giving him the benefit of doubt stating that JT remains not guilty unless proven. He now faces the embarrassment of being ignored by the FA and having a decision forced upon him which I am sure he does not appreciate. What was Fabio thinking? The video replays seen all over the internet confirmed the racial ranting of JT atleast to the common person. Is Fabio going to blame his deference stand to his lack of knowledge of the English language?

The FA by taking this stance has redeemed it position as a controller of the game. Why did it take so long to come to this decision when the situation has not really changed. JT has still not been charged. Postponement of the trial seems to have forced the FA to act. Well, it is better late than never.

JT must answer the accusation and he will. He should also not be allowed to play until this happens. He is a terrific player but certainly not a role model for the common people. His status should not give him the license to behave as he likes both in his private and professional life. He should have been red-carded straight away, then perhaps everything would have moved faster and the division in the camp could have been avoided. As a football fan and Chelsea supported I would have been happier.

Police hunt train defecator

Police are looking for an individual who has been causing £ 60,000 by smearing excrement inside carriage of commuter trains, forcing authorities to withdraw carriages and cancel trains, not including cleaning costs and health risks.

Deviant behaviour such as this is hard to explain. Could the individual be having something against the railway authorities? Could he be mentally ill?

He has shown some insight by cleverly avoiding being caught, in spite of CCTVs.

He has also been waiting for the carriage to be empty before embarking on this defacement.

Let us pray that he is caught to prevent further losses and damage and also aren’t we all curious to know why he has been doing this?

Now that the news has come out, would it deter him and would he go into hiding?

This raises another question. Should the media liaise with the police and wait for the apprehension of the culprit before breaking the news?

Two times lucky

A black man married a white man. Is that weird? certainly not. But if I said they had twins, would that surprise you? No. But what if I said that one of the twin was black and the other white? I can hear you say, 'No way'. But after 6 long years, if the same couple had another set of twins, a rarity in itself, but what makes this weirdest of weird is that the twins were once again, a black and white. How weirder can it get!!

A mixed-race couple who had one black and one white twin daughter seven years ago have defied the odds and done it again.

Dean Durrant, 33, and Alison Spooner, 27, of Fleet, Hampshire, have had another set of twin girls with different coloured skin - Miya has her father's black skin and Leah is white like her mother.

The couple's first set of twins arrived in 2001, with blue-eyed, red-haired Lauren taking after her mother while Hayleigh has black skin and hair like her father.

Mr Durrant said: "We didn't think it was even possible when we had Lauren and Hayleigh - and it didn't cross our minds that it could happen again. But we are just delighted that it has."

Ms Spooner added: "I was shocked when I first found out I was pregnant with twins again - but I never thought for one second they would turn out the same as last time."

Miya and Leah were delivered by Caesarean section at Frimley Park Hospital, in Surrey, at just 37 weeks of pregnancy after scans revealed both babies were breach.

Ms Spooner said: "After the babies were born they weren't breathing properly, so they were taken to a special care unit.

"It wasn't until about five days after they were born that we saw them side by side for the first time.

"And when they were together it was clear that one was darker than the other. It was unbelievable."

"Now the girls are back home with us and are very healthy. Lauren and Hayleigh think the new arrivals are fantastic."
